Just a quick post updating everyone on recent and imminent happenings, including a major announcement. First, Gen Con was a blast–one of the best ever, I think–and even though I don’t have time at the moment to write a full report, I’ll just say that it was great professionally and personally. I’ll have a more complete report on that and Worldcon when I return from San Antonio. And speaking of San Antonio, I’m on my way there tomorrow for LoneStarCon 3, otherwise known as the latest incarnation of Worldcon, with a couple of panels and a workshop (and authors’ meetup) on the docket; please check out the details on my Schedule page, and if you’re in the San Antonio area please swing by and say hello!
Finally and most importantly, I’m pleased, excited (even a touch nervous 🙂 ) and proud to announce my next project, launching on November 5th:
Following up on the hugely successful Kickstarter for the Time Traveled Tales anthology, Silence in the Library Publishing‘s next project is Icarus, my second novel being converted into a graphic novel with art from artist Matt Slay. Matt both illustrated Time Traveled Tales and has done professional work for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and many others, and I couldn’t be happier to have him as the artist for my work. We’ve got a number of stretch goals already planned (including E-book versions of the original novel and other goodies), and there are a host of even more exciting things which we’re going to announce a little later as details fall into place. This is the first Kickstarter involving only my own work, and after serious thought I decided to take the plunge–everyone involved feels good about its prospects, and I’m incredibly excited to see my world realized in a new form. I’ll have more details in the weeks before the Kickstarter’s official release on November 5th, but thanks in advance for spreading the word about the project and supporting both it and me.
That’s all for now–until next time, thanks as always and talk soon!
