Well, so to speak.  Next weekend is Ad Astra, one of my favorite conventions (and my only regular international one), so I’ll be heading north of the border on Friday.  I’m going to be a panelist and a reader (with some cool company on both fronts), with a schedule that looks like this:

Some really cool panels here, along with some cool people…and on the reading front, I get to be in a session with Ed Greenwood again!  Last year’s reading with him was a blast, and I’ve read with Dave Duncan in the past too…good guy and an excellent writer.  (I expect to be reading from Grayshade, currently on submission.)  Ad Astra is always well run and attended, so if you’re in the Toronto area, make sure to head over to the Don Valley hotel to check it out for yourself.  I’ve got more details on my Schedule page.

I also wanted to mention that Speculate! The Podcast for Writers, Readers and Fans is rolling along quite nicely, most recently with discussions about (and an interview with) Nebula nominee N.K. Jemisin.  We just finished a long interview with (#1 NYT Bestselling author…looking forward to being able to say that myself 🙂 ) Pat Rothfuss, which will go live on April 11th, and will be following that up with a discussion of Night Shade’s Eclipse Four anthology and interviews with editors and authors alike.  So if you’re vaguely interested in speculative fiction (and if you’re checking out my blog, I assume you are!), head on over and listen to the show for yourself.

Finally, I wanted to send a quick shout out to my friend and fellow writer (and co-host of Speculate!) Brad Beaulieu, whose first novel has just come out from Night Shade–The Winds of Khalakovo, which I was lucky enough to get the chance to read (and blurb) before it came out, is an epic fantasy combining windships and spirits with Russian and Persian themes.  Yeah, it’s pretty much as cool as it sounds.  Again, if you like fantasy, the book is well worth your time, so go check it out!
