Worldcon

I’ve just found out about this one–Worldcon, which is the grandaddy of all these conferences and conventions (it’s been running continuously since 1932, with a break for WWII), is in Montreal this year, and I’ll be heading north of the border to attend. My individual schedule is as follows:

Saturday, August 8th:

11 a.m.-12 p.m.: Reading with N.K. Jemisin and P.C. Hodgell

12-1:30 p.m.: Panel–First Contact: The Meeting (What would happen if aliens came to Earth?) with Chuck Cady, Duncan McGregor, Gay Haldeman, Sherwood Smith, Walter H. Hunt

5:30-6 p.m.: Signing

Sunday, August 9th:

11 a.m.-12 p.m.: Panel–The Singularity: O RLY? (Discussion of Vernor Vinge’s concept of the Singularity, first proposed in 1988.) with Jody Lynn Nye, Paul Chafe, Walter H. Hunt, Peter Watts

I’ll also be meeting with a few publishers here to discuss at least one project, and I expect to be running around from place to place during my time at the con–but if you’re planning to attend, please let me know or stop by one of the events. See you there!
